Welcome to Lady Lulpulus, a brewery founded by three dynamic women who share a passion for great beer.

luup-yuh-luus

humulus lupulus, or the common hop, is a dioecious plant, which means that it has separate male and female plants. In the case of the hop plant, the female plant produces the hops that are used in brewing, while the male plant produces pollen.

The female part of the hop plant is called a hop cone or a hop flower. It is the part of the plant that is primarily used in brewing beer. Hop cones are cone-shaped structures that contain tiny yellow lupulin glands, which give hops their distinctive aroma and flavor. The lupulin glands contain alpha acids, which are responsible for the bitter taste in beer, and essential oils, which contribute to the aroma and flavor.
